Two investigators with clashing personalities must work together to maintain order in supernatural London.
Join Abby and Nate as they are paired up by their superiors to combat the troubles of the secret world that inhabits London, England. Between navigating hidden societies, negotiating creature peace pacts, and tracking down monsters they have a lot to deal with. The two heroes have to learn to work together and fight for their world - but make no mistake, they are mortal and no one is safe.
As the story progresses, you not only see the party of main characters grow to reflect the culture and friendships that London is known for, but also see them tackle real-world issues. From sexism to ableism, the group are fighting not only the physical monsters that roam the streets, but also the emotional and mental demons that plague people in their lives.

Nate had a wonderfully normal upbringing where he lived in his family house in the Midlands with his parents and sister before heading off to study at Lincoln University, where he received a degree in criminology.
After moving to London with his sister, Stephanie, and being placed in a partnership with Abby, he focused more on the study of magic and the supernatural world. This has left him very little time to find and focus on a career in any professional capacity, instead using the skills he had at hand to become a Freelance Magician in order to pay his rent.
Nate’s love of the supernatural world and magic is only strengthened by his thirst for knowledge. If Nate doesn’t know something, he will likely sit somewhere on the internet or his head in a book for hours making sure he understands it thoroughly. Despite this, Nate actually really dislikes reading, but his need for knowledge outweighs his hatred.

Abby is a smart talking, ass kicking girl who has started life with a bit of a rough hand. Orphaned at a young age and her only living relative (her aunt) not wanting anything to do with her, Abby has learned to fend for herself. Due to this, Abby has built up a haughty and prickly nature to protect herself, but once you manage to break past that, you have made a strong and loyal friend.
When not investigating and hunting down the creatures that plague London with Nate, she takes up shifts at her housemate Odd’s company (Odd Jobs) where she will take on Ad Hoc trade tasks such as repairing electrics, building things or even mechanics. Abby strives to keep herself healthy and fighting-fit, which has led to an interest in boxing and running. Part of her disdain towards Nate stems from his seeming laziness and unwillingness to participate in anything that might require physical effort.
Sharing a fiercely competitive nature sometimes causes tension between the hard headed Abby and her new “softer” partner. However, as the series progresses, they learn to communicate and help each other grow, allowing Abby to blossom into a strong and well-rounded leader. This includes Nate helping Abby research her heritage and guiding Abby on the use of magic (which she has shown to have a distaste and skepticism for).
